Final Debate Writing
Some reflections that I can make from the debate is that there are a few points I could've put against Claudette. There are parts where I can refute such as when Claudete's team mentioned how she had the biggest moral compass but in reality, Jeanette had all the right intentions when not accepting help from Claudette. While Mirabella most definitely isn't the best wolf girl, but she is the best wolf which that side was arguing.
There are many reasons that Jeanette is the best wolf girl one of the main reasons are that she is the most advanced which directly correlates to the best wolf girl. According to the passage it states that "Jeanette was the first among us to apologize; to drink apple juice out of a sippy cup." This shows how Jeanette really is the most advanced out of all the wolf girls. Another reason why she is the best wolf girl is when she didn't help Claudette even though you might think that that's bad, but it shows retaliation against all the hate she gets. According to the passage it states that "Jeanette gave me a wide, true wolf smile… ‘Not for your’ she mouthed back." This really shows how Jeanette is the most independent out of all the wolf girls.
There is Mirabella where there is a ton of things I can reflect on which is how the group kept mentioning how she is the best wolf but not the best wolf girl. They mentioned how everyone left behind Mirabella and how she was the one who was left behind the most. Even though this is "heartbreaking" she deserved it because of her inability to adapt to the environment. She also betrayed her parents because this was supposedly make her human. Another argument that was presented was that she was the most caring for her sister. Even though this might be true the sisters don't want to care for her in that particular way.
While Claudette might have the best experiences and the most evidence in the text it doesn't necessarily make her the best wolf girl. There are many reasons to this mostly that she just doesn't care about anyone except for herself. An argument that could be presented is that she doesn't want to be hated by the wolf girls and doesn't want to be hated. The main argument that could've of been put against this Claudette is that she only cares what other people think of her.
In conclusion in this debate, it shows how Jeanette is a better wolf girl but ultimately at the end Claudette ended up winning because she has the greatest moral dilemma, and she also has the most experiences which makes it easy to win in a debate. If we had more correlation in this debate, we would of most definitely won.
