Some reflections that I can make from the debate is that there are a few points I could've put against Claudette. Cultural Assimilation can be used in many circumstances and its not a good thing because your pulling out your own culture just to fit in. There are many reasons as to why students try to assimilate most of the reasons are because people want to fit in and not be judged. You leave most of your traditional life behind including your clothes, food, and, language. This was especially bad earlier in American history where they forced students to speak English and be more "American". Some examples of these forced assimilation is when they forced Native Americans to become more westernized by sending children at a boarding school at a young age to assimilate them.
