Cultural Assimilation can be used in many circumstances and its not a good thing because your pulling out your own culture just to fit in. There are many reasons as to why students try to assimilate most of the reasons are because people want to fit in and not be judged. You leave most of your traditional life behind including your clothes, food, and, language. This was especially bad earlier in American history where they forced students to speak English and be more "American". Some examples of these forced assimilation is when they forced Native Americans to become more westernized by sending children at a boarding school at a young age to assimilate them. As well as that many people became ashamed to speak their native language an example being the great grandfather of McCoy who was ashamed of his original language. There are many essential foods in my hometown but, there are a few that stand out including the classic food which is Biryani. In addition Biryani has a variety of ingredients depending on what kind you're looking for, but the basic ingredients are a mix of rice, meat, and spices. Some other main dish meals are the chilli chicken, chicken roast, and Chana Dal. Another classic are the Sheesh Kababs which explode with flavor when you eat them accompanied with sauce makes them taste superb.
